• TODAY: NATIONAL DAY of SILENCE. Be silent for the day so that gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of your community don't have to be. By being silent you are bringing awareness to the silence imposed upon people because of their sexuality, often out of fear for their own safety. Getting involved is easy; simply pick up a sign from outside the PRISM office (room 203 upstairs in the University Union) to wear for the day stating why you are being silent. For more information contact PRISM@nau.edu. This event is a national occurrence and not directly associated with Take My Voice.
• TODAY: join us to BREAK THE SILENCE at the end of the day with Flagstaff's first PRIDE MARCH. This is part of this month's Proud Out Loud celebrations, so dress for the occasion in your loudest/brightest outfit. The march will start at 5pm on South Campus. We will meet next to the Silver Fries (outside DuBois). After the march, there will be speakers and chance to get to know other members of your community, and celebrate diversity with your friends. • Topic of the Week the Supreme Court ban on Partial birth abortions. (DNE abortion) This abortion is done mostly for medical reasons, but the ban doesn't exclude that. Meaning even if you were dying, doctors could not perform a DNE abortion. DNE is only 1 type of late term abortion; the second is still legal.
